I haven't posted anything for you folks in a long time, but with some changes in my kit brewing I have been hanging around FM more these days.
Today I decided to spend a few minutes pointing a 100-400 and 5D II at these bohemian waxwings. Perhaps they're interesting to see as they are our more northern waxwing species.
4. At first glance these birds aren't easy to distinguish from cedar waxwings, but hearing them helps a lot. There were lots of them around, flocked together with redpolls, all making quite a bit of noise. http://joshuasee.ca/2012Uploads/IMG_0495.jpg
5. In Fairbanks it is definitely the raven that takes the top spot for our iconic winter bird. This one was found proudly perched on transfer station bounty. http://joshuasee.ca/2012Uploads/IMG_0496.jpg
The moose pictures were actually taken back in November... so, it was 40 below way back then! January here was cold but right now we're enjoying some warm temperatures: 20 degrees or so above zero today.
