p.2 #1 · How much computer ?

Do not buy two sets of 8 GB RAM (2 x 4 GB) to make 16 GB (4 x 4 GB). Likewise don't upgrade by buying 8 GB now and 8 GB later.

Buy one set of 4 x 4 GB RAM to make 16 GB so that the RAM is matched. If you want to upgrade from 8 GB to 16 GB, buy 4 x 4 GB and sell the 2 x 4 GB. Otherwise you may get some anomalous glitches in the system.

I got 4 x 4 GB GSkills RAM on sale from NewEgg three months ago for $70.

Good question and thanks for doing the tests and reporting.

Perhaps Hugin was working with a much larger number of control points and hence took much longer. I shot the pano with an Omni Pivot Pro at the pivot point so that there was no parallax with foreground objects. That would mean an excellent fit and many control points.

I have a Mac Desktop for Aperture. 2 X Quad Core Processors and 14GB RAM. It's pretty good. I'm going to up to 32GB when I can.

On my Mac Book Pro with core 2 duo and 4GB RAM things are like a snails pace.

If U want a laptop for events i suggest a minimum of i5 and as much RAM as you can get in there.

Also Aperture3 is all you need. I dumped Capture NX2 and Lightroom. Aperture is much better.
