I see from the forum description that pet photos are to go here but, according to my search at least, the last comment in a dog-related thread was from seven weeks ago...
So to boost the presence of our canine companions, here are some of my favourite pooch pics as of late. C&C welcome as well as general advice when it comes to photographing domestic animals. These are all shot "in the field" but I'd be interested to hear how people who do pet portraits get their subjects to co-operate.
I was playing around with a slight HDR on this one. Doesn't work too well for people but I think it's not so bad here... (colours are a little over saturated I will concede)
Some beautiful shots above. Sometimes working with pets is more fun than people!
Like many others, mine gets alot of time in front of the camera. Luckily lots of training and treats help him listen and stay attentive. Most animals I have shot follow much of the same characteristics. But there are just some, no amount of treats will entice and those are usually the ones I just capture in the moment. Kind of like small children. Some ages are pretty challenging and I just adopt the best I can. Here are a few of mine. Staffordshire Bull Terrier
The best thing I'm seeing here is sufficient depth of field. Too many times, we tend to get eyes or nose out of focus on our four-legged friends.
All the above shots look great in this regard, however.
