#1 - I like that you cropped the top. since I am not a fan of tinting, I find it hard to comment on the treatment, but I like the composition.
#2 - great composition! I'd like it even more with more contrast, darker shadows.
good shooting.
regards, tom

Carolyn- I can only relate to these in a very simplistic way. But here goes my $.02 worth (inflation ):
The first image looks squished together because of the tight cropping. Also a bit dark and depressing. I'd probably look more favorably at it except for the second image-
I love the light and airy feel of the second shot. Generally I prefer more contrast- but not here. In fact- I'd even lighten the sky and make the whole image high key.

I like both treatments. The high key look in the second seems to fit perfectly.

Both represent the SFdA church well. Sepia is O'Keeffe-esque; the high key reminds me of a summer day after the storm clouds clear.

Both nice images. I like the sepia in the first, seems very natural for the subject and sure reminds me of the work by Paul Strand when he stayed there.
Thanks for sharing.

Both are wonderful capture carolyn. I wish there was a bit more headroom on the first or cropped slightly below the sky line. The toning works really nice though.
