Was driving home with my son from Whites pass ski area after his 1st lesson Snowboarding and was passing clear lake. I said what the hell and turned around and went back to shoot this. He said I was weird and he couldn't see anything. I said, you have to see what's possible.
3/4 moon at 8pm.
Thanks Everyone. I'll probably put one in his room, he really wants one of him on his snowboard
1st he said, "How can their be stars in the daytime?". Then he asked if I was going to photoshop the stars out"
Still trying to grasp the exposure concept.

Nice job on turning around and shooting this. If it were me I think I would bring the exposure down just a tad to make it look more like night. Nice shot though.
Benny, That's why I post here, I knew there was something bugging me about it, and you nailed it on the head.
I wanted to "see" the detail, but over did it. One of those forrest through the tree things.
Went back and made some adjustment's. Does this look better?
And seriously, Thanks for the input.
I'd like to split the difference. I think a reverse grad effect would work wonders here. Keeping the separation of the trees from the background while darkening just the sky and reflection.
