I've been lurking for awhile...finally feel confident enough to post something...This was a photo shoot I did a few days ago...It is a look called Lolita...using wigs...I decided to also use my IR camera...to shoot a few pictures...the look that we were trying for is more like a doll....
***Comments are welcome....
Camera: Sony a200 Converted to IR w/720nm filter
Lens: Minolta 18-200 3.5-5.6
Lighting...Lastolite w/2x 160watt strobes and ABR800
I did not convert to completely B&W I liked the wierd coloring...I've been playing with models and IR for 2 years trying to get the skin-tones w/o the veins...just right...I know there are some sensor spots on the faces...just tried to keep them as close to original as possible...the only thing changed were color balances...and tones...using NX2....
I really like these images, and your gallery. I like your last shot here the best. I have been casually shooting people with IR for several years and various cameras. I have only found any success in bright sunlight to get pleasing more natural toning. I haven't ever gotten any decent inside shots. I have no studio equipment, just a speedlight. A couple of observations you might wish to consider...possibly whitening the teeth and whites of the eyes. Keep posting more of this kind of work please.
