Snow Moon by zakdepierophotography, on Flickr

(Replaced the image with a less distracting watermark)

I'd love to hear some feedback on this one in particular, along with any tips
on how to get a great exposures on the moon itself, as seeing I always tend to
blow it out

For those of you who don't mind reading a little ...

Yesterday was most definitely one of the most accomplishing days I've had in quite
some time. I went to work just like every Tuesday and then headed over to the beach
to capture the sunset but mainly to get the moon rising! Having only about 20 minutes
or so to try and get something, I headed over to a place called Cafe Atlantique in my
hometown. This place is where my photographs are on display through the whole month
of February and last night was the open reception. The turn out was wonderful, I sold 8
framed photographs out of the 23 that were being displayed along with a bunch of prints!

definitely distracting logo, either smaller or repeating pattern at an angle would be less distracting

getting moon and rest of the picture look good is hard with a single picture [in low light, that is not daytime regular sunny day exposure], you have to catch in a small window lasting just minutes, or you can combine 2 pictures into 1, likely a 2 stop difference.

the moon exposure is usually a "sunny day" exposure while the sky and foreground are not, because you're shooting in good light.
Here the landscape was ok but moon had to be a second exposure

here the moon looks decent, daytime shot

here too, daytime

Double exposure

otherwise you just get a white ball, or in this case ball + glow

Zach, in this particular shot, seems like you could afford to expose Moon for a bit longer without blowing the exposure. For correct Moon exposure, there are multiple calculators plus smart phone apps, but generally, full moon is exposed per "sunny 16" rule.
As about picture itself, I agree that logo is extremely distracting. I do not buy into the argument of "stolen images", because 1) your logo is easy to remove with "fill by content" feature anyway 2) is there a lot of demand for reduced low-resolution images? Don't think so.

Hey Zak,

That's a pretty cool shot! Gratz on getting some photo's on display and selling some, that's awesome! I like how you set up this one.

Shooting the moon is not easy, usually it takes two shots and a layer mask, or it takes shooting it in that very small window that can appear once a month.

I am not a big one for watermarks right in the middle of shots, but if you have had images stolen, than I can understand. Though as Aleksandra said, it's not hard to remove anymore. For a middle of the shot watermark, I think you did well on keeping the visual impact to a minimum.

After the feedback, I replaced that image and made the watermark less noticeable!
I guess I'll have to do the two composite layers for the next full moon!

I appreciate all you help with the links and additional info!

I have a few that we're exposed to 1 second and it I lost all the detail in the moon itself thats why I went with this one. I guess all of you are right, there are definitely way better images that are higher quality with no watermarks already. I just want to get my credit if the image is shared across the web

Thanks for reading everything. As I responded before, I guess I'll have to go with layering them together to get a good exposure on the moon and the scene itself.

Once again, thank you everyone who has helped me out with my questions. Greatly appreciated
