Sunday morning I found a spot to shoot the stars over Mt. Index here in WA. I always looked for a good spot. Last Night (Monday), I awoke from a nap and looked at the moon. It was nearly full. TPE said 95% +. So I grabbed my gear and took the little 40 minute drive to the spot. I got there about 9:00 I guess and shot for about 40 minutes.
I came back with this 3 vertical shot pano. The software auto cropped to what you see here.
All shots are at f2.8, ISO 100, 18 sec each.
John:
I love the sky here. The forested mountainsides are too dark here in my opinion The snow covered mountainsides look about right, but as mentioned, I think the darkness of the foliage takes away from the sky.
Douglas
Douglas - As I started brightening up the forest hills, I noticed I caught some close tree tops. I tried cropping them out but then the bottom looked too cut off. So I chose to keep it dark this time around. Next time I'm shooting from there I will be using my ladder platform. Thanks for looking and the suggestions, I appreciate them.
Mike - Thanks for looking. I'm glad you like it.
Ben - The shadows were there as expected. They were a little brighter to the eye than you see here because of the near full moon. Thanks for looking and I'm glad you like it. Be sure to share your shot of the stars!
I look at all the landscape stuff daily, mostly to get ideas and to see the high quality here. I don't post anymore because I am not good enough. Also, I hate to post such small images.
