Well not to speculate, but a pretty "firm" rumor on CR just said 5D3/X will be announced next week. 22mp, 61pt AF----GOLD BABY

I might have a D800 for sale

This is confusing.

I thought when you said you ordered a D800 you did so because you felt that the high resolution would be something that would benefit your business.

If indeed Canon comes out with a 5D2 replacement that indeed includes excellent AF... how does that play into the high resolution dealio? I was under the impression that you already shoot a 5D2, whcih has the same resolution as this rumored camera.

It would benefit me, certainly. I'm quite happy with 22mp, would love more of course, but can live with 22mp if it has great AF.

The debate is still out. If I was already shooting Nikon it would be a no-brainer, but the thought of switching still twitches my soul.

But, if Canon stays with 22mp, I'm willing to bet that the high ISO will be better than the D800, and quite possibly the DR too.

Ah... I didn't realize you were contemplating a switch. I thought that you had some specialized applications that you wanted to put the 800 to work on and would otherwise keep the Canon gear.

God, I'm hoping the new 5D doesn't suck.

I am not going to lie... Nikon has been whooping butt lately.
I think the 5d3 will be sweet but I love my D3 and will probably not be giving that Nikon D line up.
I will be getting a D3s soon and eventually a D800.
Also I have to say the new 85G 1.8 is 10XXXXX better than I EVER expected it to be. It cost me 500$ has a magnesium body and wait...yes...something they FORGET to mention .... is weather sealed.
Um. ya Kiss your Sigma goodbye. Kiss your 85 1.4G goodbye.
It is essentially a throw away lens (you break it bad enough and it does not hurt to bad to just get another).
Total 100% win.

My question is why is Canon sitting on the 5d3 or 5Dx so long...?
Just release the damn thing so we can start the pissing match!

Seriously though I spent an hour today shooting with my 100 year old Graflex Super D ... only to *hope* the shots turn out... and it was WAY more fun than using any modern camera...
I only took 4 pictures too!
So ya remember why we do this people
