p.1 #1 · Hell's Canyon (2)

A couple weekends ago I spent a good portion of the day along the Snake River south of Lewiston/Clarkston. It turned into a very nice day even though the canyon is an unattractive brown now. One of the difficulties is dealing with the "hand of man" that is fairly prevalent through this section of the canyon. The road ends at Heller Bar which is a very small community near the borders of Washington/Oregon/Idaho. Here are two shots along the canyon. Both shots were processed in LR 4 Beta which I'm just trying out. Any and all C&C is very welcome!

1. A Rocky Beach. This section was very rocky so I stopped and looked around for a decent comp. I don't know if this shot looks too "recovered." The highlight/shadow recovery in LR 4 is quite a step up from CS4 that I have.

2. Sunset above the canyon. I took some wider shots including the river but there was too much in the way of power lines and poles to deal with.

Hey Aaron,

I think you did well here. No signs in #1 of too much recovery, it's a good looking shot. #2 is nice, but #1 is my favorite here.
