Hi, I"m going to order a Einstein and a 64 in soft silver PLM. Is the speedring a better setup,or a pain to use? If I get the speedring setup it has the 7mm shaft, is it very sturdy with a conventional umbrella mount? (I plan on using a 580 EX flash occasionally too with the PLM) Thanks for any advice!!
For the einstein the speedring is better, but for everything else i'd just go with the rod, i think the 8mm one is the one for most things.
7mm is for elinchroms.
I got the 7mm elinchrom rod and the speedring but for elis the rod is almost flush center and much easier to use/put away then the speedring so i just stick with that.
