Tom these are some sweet warm ups. Gotta love pre season baseball in February.....but not in NE PA. #23 is an awesome shot....I can see that as a billboard ad across the USA. You should send them a letter with the image and see what they say.
- Frank, thank you, too-- and no, I sure don't envy you guys up in that cold corner of the country! Damn, that has to be tough to wait out, while seeing the warmer states not having to deal with the cold temps and all that white stuff. Hope you thaw out soon...
I just took you up on your suggestion, btw. Anheiser-Busch has an online page for submitting marketing ideas (probably a cheap bid to get free concepts from the public, lol), so I just let them know about the shot and that I could send them a small low-res preview. Might be a bit too late for them, since it was taken back in 2010, and the banner is no longer a current ad campaign. I'll keep you posted, though-- thanks for the idea. Need to get it copyrighted just in case...

When shooting NCAA athletes and then licensing the images to corporations for marketing purposes the athlete's eligibility may be affected, so be sure to check with the school's AD or NCAA Compliance officer first. I'd hate for the school or the athlete to sue.
Great stuff Tom. You really have a knack for hedging your bets and pointing the 300 in the right direction. Must be all those hours and hours spent on the field with your kid.
For those of you who don't know..... Toms son Matt Duffy is a pretty hot major league prospect and may be playing his final year of college ball as a junior. Tom has been a huge part of Matt's success really supporting him throughout hiss career.

Definitely, Caleb- thanks for mentioning. I was planning on contacting our AD for his take on it, as well as the outfielder (he's currently in the Blue Jays farm system). Our AD has answered a few of my questions in the past-- he's a pretty cooperative and informative guy. I'll see if A-B even bites first, though.
-- Bryan, thanks for the kind words. In regards to Matt, I don't know about 'pretty hot' but he's holding his own out there. You got me blushing now, damnit.
- Richard, he does look like he's about to vacuum it up with his mouth, lol. He gloved it for the out, though. Thanks for popping in.
- Mr Arnold-- the truth is, these were all taken over the past couple of years, none were recent. Just a compilation thrown together to get the 'ol hardball juices flowing. And yeah, I'm too rusty to post anything current, but thanks for believing in me, ma man.
#8 isn't my son, but last year's SS, now in the Pirates system. He's also the kid showing the ball in #14, nearly getting his twins cleated in #17, and making the tag out in #24. He's got a skinny arm, but it's a cannon- his throws to 1B were gunned in the low-to-mid 90's a couple years back as a sophomore.
Meant to caption that last frame-- former Dirtbag and current LA Angels ace Jered Weaver throwing out the first pitch last season. He's grinning at head coach Troy Buckley behind the plate, who was his pitching coach at LB back in '04.
Guess I'd be sporting a shit-eating grin too, if I had his money.
