Since the first two mentioned above were somewhat related to Indonesian (the first guy has an email that was used as a clue by another member, see that thread; My friend was involved in that scam and I know the paypal real name is Indonesian; The second guy claims to be from UK, but his only and FAKE feedback is from another one from indonesia)
So, if they send you a paypal email asking you to pay, do wiki for that name to see if it's from Indonesia. I think, this may serve as a strong weighing factor about how you want to pay for it. You really want to use a CC if it was the case.
Thanks for the bumping. I think they all behave similar in one way or the other.
It good and bad. I guess, they'll try not to behave the same later on. But I can't care for that much further. Just hope we hold up against them for this other round. Luckily, usually the guys pm'ed them are experienced buyer/sellers, and are not easily scammed.
Let's see what happens next and hope we catch them again.

trusty is the basis of this community. let us all keep an eye on those too good to be true thread, and try our best to filter out those scammers.
Sorry to hear that beetle.
Always perform due diligence in checking the prices on items. If an item's price is straight out of a dream, than it is probably a mirage. Additionally, always perform due diligence in dealing with sellers/buyers with minimal feedback; although most are perfectly honest, it never hurts to be overly cautious and avoid ending up burned.

I guess I can't do business here anymore . I am originally from Indonesia and has Indonesian name on my paypal.
Sorry. I am really not against Indonessian. I myself have Chinese origin and you can see that from some of my feedbacks (I believe, two of them).
It's just that there seems to be this group of people who continuously do this in the past month. There are 2-3 accounts get blocked and they don't freaking back off...Thus I guess there should be a little more attention on this group of people. I was just trying to tell a way to pick them out...
"I was just trying to tell a way to pick them out... "
In a way you are againts Indonesian...you are telling people how to pick them out and watch for them. Even your thread title is "Indonesian Scammers" and not "Scammers at FM" or "Scammers around us....watch out!!!"....
Whenever I am considering doing business with anyone here, I check their feedbacks, their website/business profile (if any), sometimes I call them up and chat on the phone. I personally only trade with people in the US or Canada, just to minimize the risk and limit the shipping costs. Never in my "pre-sale screening" did I check their ethnicity, their skin color, their age, gender, or name on their paypal account/email address.
Scammers come from all part of the world...I think we have to always be careful and not have a false feeling of security knowing that the other party only lives few blocks away....nor should we automatically place a judgement when someone is located on the other side of the world.
i agree that it is not good to blame all Indonesian.
i think the purpose of this thread is to warn people that recently a bunch of Indonesian scammers are watching FM.
it is always good to chat with others on the phone before you pay/ship.
i have pretty good experience here, my first sale on this board is a $1000 canon 17-55, i do not have any feedback at that time, i do appreciate his trust. let's try out best to maintain this online community.

There is no problem posting this. I moved it to this board. However, it's better if you send me info via PM. I will act on it faster.
I can't stop folks from joining in but I'm very active closing suspicious accounts.
Best,
Fred
