I use single point focus center focus point on the eye, then recompose and trip the shutter.

Nice set Morris.

You have to be careful with fill flash. Two catchlights in the eye will always give you away. A couple of them have branches in front of the bird with a shadow showing on the bird that's coming from a low light source.

I applaud you for taking flash on. It's a very challenging skill and not much in use in these days of high-ISO shooting.

You use the Better Beamer like an artist, Morris. You should get them to pay you for this advertising of their product! I'm really liking the light/shadowplay in #7. A House Sparrow has never looked so good!
