What is the best option for converting these files? I've used Breezebrowser Pro for years, but as far as I know the E-PL2 files are unsupported.
Thanks
Sometimes Lightroom, sometimes Oly's own software. That's actually not bad at all. But LR does a good job, too, so most of the time, I don't bother. I use Breezebrowser to tag the files I want to import to LR, though. It's a shame Breezebrowser doesn't support the Olys.
i use Lightroom because i have far too many cameras with their own RAW formats to bother loading all the software. Lightroom does all of them well enough i don't care.
All Lightroom, all the time here. I've used it for a ton of different EOS and M43 cameras and it has always served me well. The noise reduction used to be poor for my non-Canon cameras, but it has gotten a lot better with the new RAW process. Hopefully LR4 will improve highlight recovery with at least some of the M43 cameras, because that's the only area where LR still seems relatively weak to me. (It's great for Canon cameras, just not M43.)
I used to use Photoshop a lot, and have used DPP, C1, and Oly's various apps. The integrated library and capture-neutral editing would win the day even if its RAW converter wasn't one of the best. Bottom line, I need quick processing because I don't like PP and I don't have enough free time to spend Photoshop-level time on each keeper.
I enjoy using dxo but never hear much about it on these forums. I love the 'lens corrections' for distortion and vignetting. The one shot hdr feature acts like a fill flash for me much of the time when taking a flash is not expected or just too large/heavy for my trip out.
I'll still use something like elements or paintshop for anything I might need after dxo.
