p.1 #1 · Eyes of the Beholder

Well my apologies for not being an active participant these days, as my child gets older it has been more time consuming and definately a bit stressful, but ofcourse always enjoyable! I have a few spare minutes here and there to check out some work, and as always all you guys do a amazing job!

I rec'd a copy of photoshop and just trying my hand at a few tutorials. I think I am about a quarter the way thru understanding the in's and out's, but ofcourse there is really no end to what can be had thru this program. Its truly amazing! if anyone has some helpful links to tutorials that you have used in the past it would be helpful. there is obviously a ton of tutorials out there but posting a link that helped you out would be appreciated.

My wifes tired eyes after a few brutal weeks of the child being sick. Ofcourse highly edited in PS for the tutorial I cropped it way out of ordinary for the example

Sympathy for the sick child. Always draining on the parents, too!

For me, this would be more effective if it was sharp. It would brink out the blood vessles better and maybe portray your intent better.

I really like the image, OneSize.
Without the explanation- I might have liked it even better- it really is a dramatic shot.
My sympathies for your tyke and the both of you. A sick young-un is tough on everyone.

Tim/charlie thanks for the reply

Thanks for the sympathy as well. After awhile you get used to it.

And yes since it really was a practice tutorial I used the best lighting in my house. I really need to invest into a Speed light though, no house lighting is ever enough even for my F1.8 30 mm. however it served its purpose.

I think I contradicted the sharpness as well I put a gausian blur on the image to smooth out the skin and when painting back in the detail I didn't hit the eyes good enough.

Best to you and your family.
I agree with much of the feedback (and wishes) above. The eyes need to be sharper. Nothing else needs to be. I like the crop.
