Taken just after sunset on Hassleblad Xpan2, 45mm lens, Fuji Velvia. At this point there was myself & my wife, and one other photographer wandering around the dunes, surreal place at sunset! Plenty of wind also blowing sand everywhere, and giving the scrub a bit of movement.
Hmmm. I think I am with Douglas here. I find the movement in the middle of the image a bit distracting. Just my personal preference. Nice colours though.
Thanks for the comments. The movement is a subjective area...but when I shot the image, there was no way the wind was going to abate, especially when I needed to get the colours of the afterglow of sunset. I kind of like the movement, but agree it mightn't be for everyone.
Jim, Coral Pink is a fab little park, and quite easy to spend a while there shooting all sort of stuff!
Neat place, kind of surprising that we don't get more shots from there considering the proximity to Zion. I like the shot but the movement does distract
I was doing a search for the Coral Pink Sand Dunes and this thread popped up. Beautiful image. I actually love that movement because it adds the "windy" feel to the image. I can almost feel standing there with the wind on my back watching the sunset over the great dunes.
