Hi, thanks for sharing. The focus and exposure are nailed on and you've done well to get some clean backgrounds. My favourite of the group is 4.
In terms of the action, I like sets that show the variation of action in a game (shots, saves, dribbling, heading, passing, tackling, celebrations etc) and also shots that portray the skill of the players. For me 1 & 5 don't work on that front, as it looks like neither player has control of the ball. It's not immediately apparent that one has made a good tackle (as they have in 4 & to a lesser extent 2), or that the other has successfully beaten the tackler. Likewise in 3 both players appear to have shut their eyes and missed it.
Just my opinion of course, hope it stimulates some debate for you.
Paul
Hi Peter, yes the players here look more like the star of the photo as well as the subject. I like the eye contact the players in the second one have with the ball. Would number 5 look tighter as a regular portrait crop?

GOD I wish I could get my shots this sharp and clear. I get some here and there, but not all of them.
HI morenoar,
I woudl like to think that all of my photos are sharp and clear, but I can tell you that is not the case. You will find every photographer has oof/misframed photos, but we pratice and try to keep that ratio as far down as possible.

Very nice Peter...you've got me itching to get back outside...
Is this a pro/semi-pro team? Or just-for-fun?
Chris
Hi Aqualung
Thanks for looking and your comments

If you will pay my way to Ireland and set me up with a wee abode, I'll carry your photo equipment for you anywhere, just to pick up a few pointers.
These are all very well done! Thanks for posting them.

PS: My Great-Great grandfather was from Ireland.
