Yes, I remember myself. I did not sleep with mine. But I purchased it 5 days before christmas, tested it a second time (I tested 3 in the shop - all seemed to be great) and put it back into the box. Then I waited till christmas evening :-).
Like somebody mentioned here too: Yes, the first "L" is always a special (if it was a great one ;-))
Great to see such a big range of different lenses beeing your favorites. Many of them I never used. That is a nice new orientation.
This one is difficult. All the Canon lens that I have perform there intended purpose very well. If best means most used, then currently it is the 800. If best means emotionally attached, then it is the 500. Even with the 500's duties virtually being replaced by the 800, I just can't sell it.
