I have had good success getting good lenses from Canon. The telephotos are
easier to design and build, so it's no surprise that they have been my best Canon
performers.
Its weird, but my best 2 canon lenses stand on the opposite end of the price spectrum. Love my 24LII as well as my 50 CM macro. Both are insanely sharp even wide open, yet one is $1100 less, can't recommend a better bang for buck than the 50 macro. OTOH, my 24L is my go to available light lens, since I need wider than 50 for interiors, but the 50 CM can easily hang with my 24L. Love em both.
I recently sold the 85L II, 135L, 70-200L IS 2.8 and 200L IS 2.0 while were extremely sharp and well suited for their purpose and my needs and style when purchased.
Longisland.km gave me his 70-200L IS F4 it is unbelievably sharper than them all and a welcome addition along with a new 50L and 400L 5.6.
Everything they say about the 70-200L IS F4 is true.
