There is no doubt the output of this system is stunning. Beautiful tonality, rich color. Now the only thing to see is if it's usable as a camera...responsive, easy to manage, etc. It certainly has a lot of promise, provided you're ok with the size.

That crop looks very good. I'm getting tempted, I just wonder how focusing will be with MF lenses; really wish it had peaking function.
I read somewhere that there was a peaking option in the pre-firmware menus, and it was blacked out currently, but it will be in the final firmware. Can anyone confirm this?
Since I mainly use the ZM 35/2 on my NEX-5N, and I always leave the EVF attached (as well as a leather half-grip,) my 5N carries a little larger than spec, so I could MAYBE deal with the X-Pro1 size. I'll wait to see how happy people are with the performance this Spring, once the Fuji has been in people's hands for a while.

Too bad. It fits pretty much exactly where I want it to be.
It's smaller than my 5D and the Pentax LX that I used a lot in the bad old days. It's bigger and heavier than my X100. It's about the same as a M9, except for price.
yeah, i'm getting more and more picky about size now that i can be. it's crosses the threshold for me into the size category where i'll only buy a camera if it's FF or for birding. i guess 3 years ago i wouldn't have thought so, but now i look at the NEX-7 and say no way to the size of the fuji.

That would be great if true, but I haven't heard that anywhere else.

I agree, I'm not really bothered by the size.
I still use my 5d because the IQ is better than any of my other cameras, including the 5N.
If the X-Pro1's IQ is as good as its touted to be I'll seriously consider it. I'd still keep my 5d because sometimes I really want FF, but I think I'd use it less if the X-Pro 1 turns out to live up to the hype.
That 18 mm still seems like a waste of 600$, but the other two seem nice enough. The 35/1.4 might be one of the best "value" fast 35's today. Looking great at F2, and more than reasonably sharp at F1.4. Very good. And AF to boot!
Looks ok to me... I could use it. But I'll wait for the adaptor to see how M lenses do on this sensor before I buy it.
The 35 looks better, I've changed my order to this.

I agree about the 18. The recently added, 100% samples at the Fuji link above also show the lens to be disappointing. The other two look great though.
actually what they show is that the camera lens combo is disappointing. every single shot with the 18mm is back focused in the lenstip photos. it's most obvious in the f/2 ones, but the last f/2.8 one is pretty egregious as well. the lens might be pretty decent but it's impossible to tell when the back of someone's jacket or the back of car is the part in focus.
edit: also, who's bright idea was it to stick that light off to the right in front of the camera? is that supposed to be a flare test?
