p.1 #1 · Canned Web Sites?

Theres been a lot of good chatter on here lately about people putting up web sites, what kind etc. I think I read them all and got a lot of good info out of it. The one thing I didnt see though, was if anyone knew of a hosting place that has canned templates that I can choose from and put up my own stuff? I know NOTHING about programming in flash, dont care to program in anything else (Id like to think my programming days are behind me) and would rather use my energies elsewhere. Id love a great point and click interface where customization would be easy, I can add my own categories, upload my own pictures etc. Having a shopping cart for people that want to purchase prints would be nice too.

Something that can support my own domain name would be nice too but not mandatory.

That being said, Im open for suggestions, and would love to see whats out there!
Thanks!
bob

My ISP (powweb.com) offers a web-based site builder that sounds like what you are looking for. I haven't looked at the templates to see what they look like.

I am wondering about the same thing. Someone recommended Tumblr to me. I don't really need a payment portal at this point but would love an easy solution to show photos/portfolios for potential clients. Hope you don't mind that I tagged on to your thread!

Not at all sharona. Theres another thread here mentioning photobiz, but its quite expensive. I know nothing is free, and I expect a cost, I just have to weigh cost vs payback. Being this is strictly a hobby for me, I cant justify much more than a few bucks a month.

If it's just a hobby, I'd look into tumblr! I have a tech-savvy younger guy working with me and he made a pretty nice site for his wife on tumblr. I believe it is free. She's got writing, blogs, photos, etc on it.
