I don't know how many of you sell work through Microstock. I just recently started getting involved, and as part of the learning process decided I'd blog the journey (most of it, so far, involving me tripping over stuff).
Anyway, since my focus is mainly going to be on people and pets, I was hoping that some of the other folks here might have experience in the Microstock world. I've appreciated your images and insight over the years, and would love to hear your advice as well as see your work.
If you have insight into what's sold and hasn't sold, all the better.
(Note, this was originally posted to People photography and it was suggested this forum would be a better place for the subject. I'll delete the original post as soon as I figure out how.)
Thanks for sharing. I noticed from the links on your blog that some of your same photos were being offered on different sites. Don't the micro-stock agencies want exclusivity?
They will pay slightly higher royalties for exclusivity, but unless otherwise stated (i.e. not all sites are the same) they do not demand it. You decide when you submit the image if it will be an exclusive.
