At F8, it's only sharp relative to how soft it is at wider apertures. I tested it against my Nikkor 16-85 zoom at 5.6 and 8 and the Nikkor was sharper at both apertures, so I returned mine.
BTW, this was my top pick for biggest lens disappointment.
