I'm Greg from Luma. I hope this is kosher with Mr Miranda, but since a couple of folks were on here wondering when their orders were going to ship, I was hoping it would be ok for me to address that question directly on here.
The Cinch started shipping in volume on the 12th and we have a pretty substantial backorder list to work through. Those backorders are also heavily skewed to the day that we released the soft launch to our mailing list (24 December). Even though we are in full production and shipping every day, we just cleared out 24 December orders yesterday. The rest of our backorder list is a much more normal distribution, so we'll be catching up relatively quickly from here on in.
If you all have any questions, please feel free to email [email protected] (I'm usually the one taking care of support emails these days). I'll also be hanging around here as this looks like a pretty neat forum!
How exactly would that be attached?
With my BR, I attach it to the lens collar on the 70-200f2.8.
I don't like attaching a strap to the body because the lens seems to dangle awkwardly.
I wasalso worried about that so I made contact with luma, he said just attach one end of strap tp camera the other to the lens tripod mount making it cradle like. He said his testers tried this and liked it
it has arrived. nicely built with one caveat (later near bottom).
update #1
initial installation D700 w/ RRS L Plate on. attached per instructions except right side is attached directly to the L plate strap fix point.
initially more comfortable then any other sling type setup i have tried.
left to left and right to bottom is good but can cause a left lower camera corner to right lower rib shot if not adjusted well. stays in place when snugged up. great in a lot of situations especially one when real close to white porcelain
tried with both straps on the right. camera back is flat against the body lens directly out perpendicular. haven't decided which is the lesser of two evils
added 2 pieces of stretch webbing as covers for some the nicely machined aluminum alloy buckles to protect camera when off and in a bag. this method may require a little more thinking. need to make 3 more. my only real issue is a lot of bare metal swing around when off.
does not interfere with using an L plate in either position
don't really see why it can't be QR'd. will work on this option myself.

In other words, 'Suck It' R Strap.
I may try this...looks pretty decent.
I have to agree and I think there are other straps out there that are better than the BR. The old style luma for one and the sunsniper to me the BR is not the one

I use the upstrap. The only thing I wish for is that Canon's used strap lugs like Nikons instead of the stupid slits.
I also use the UPstrap HD w/Vectran connectors. With this configuration there is no metal at all, and the strap is very secure. Still, I wanted the 'Cinch' but determined it may not work for my needs. I do like those elastic covers mentioned and illustrated above. Seems like a winning combination.
