Tomorrow is expected to be a decent day in the St. Louis area around the Chain of Rocks Bridge. It' their "Eagle Days" watching this weekend and next. Again, here's to hoping!!!

Local camera club out of Springfield, MO going tomorrow morning early to Wheaton, MO; a bit far from you. I'm still debating on whether I want to go or not.
Blessed to live in Canada, where Baldies are as common as starlings, and I have never seen one with a band around its ankle.....
400mm F5.6L is my go to, on a 7D.
That is a lott better than I have ever done. The Bald Eagle's European cousin the White tailed Eagle is very rare in The Netherlands, only two breeding pairs in the whole country.

I would recommend a 1D series, 500/4 or longer + TC, Gitzo flat base CF tripod, and a full gimbal mount like the wimberly 2. Ans lots of warm layers of clothes.
