Helena, for the first you could try boosting up the blue-grey tone some more and adding a bit of vignette, or maybe resort to B&W - my favourite compromise when i can't make the colour work.
You could also straighten up the horizon on No.2 whilst you're there

Thank you! I'll give it a try today if I can find the time.
Regarding #2, which horizon..? I agree the photo looks tilted, but it's a hill, and the buildings seem (somewhat) straight. I'll see what I can do. I'm new at post processing (only started with RAW a couple of weeks ago), so I have a lot to learn.
Sorry - I should probably have said make the buildings stand straight. You're right, there is no horizon as such. Your PP software should have a rotate option with a superimposed grid to help with lining things up. Make the grain silos vertical and the rest will fall into place.
Helena, you are more than welcome. Though i think those tips pretty much comprise all my PP skills
Another something from Christmas (i'm spending the day making inroads into my RAW backlog). Just to show that cold is no obstacle for the dedicated bubble-blower...

Thanks! The lighting around here is fantastic in the Winter. I would imagine it is over there too seeing as we're similar in Latitude.
Really like your Frozen Waterfall! That's something I'm planning on finding around here too.
Thank you! Yes, the light can be wonderful in winter here as well.
Greetings from NV...I had to fly all the way here, then into the desert to find snow . I will be here for a bit, hoping to get up to Lake Tahoe if time permits. A few with the 5D MkII and my travel lens, 24-105L IS.
Really enjoying the photos; Tenn.Jer...turtles sunning in January
