This crumbling hanger is located at Cabinass Field in Corpus Christi, TX. Cabinass Field was constructed in 1941as a Primary and Advanced Carrier training field for naval aviators. Barely visible on the wall are the words “Student Check In” and “Training Office”. I can imagine the excitement that those young men felt; almost 70 years ago, when they first arrived for flight training and saw those freshly painted signs on the wall of the hanger. The words are almost faded from view as are the brave young men who saw them so long ago.
