I'm sending in my 80-200mm 2.8 ED (two ring) to Nikon for cleaning and general servicing. Just wondering what I can expect for turnaround time on something like this? Any info would be appreciated greatly. Nothing is majorly wrong with it, just looking to get it in tip-top shape for sale.
Let us know what that cost you, I've generally thought it's not worth it to have a lens CLA'd before selling it as the cost is almost never recouped vs just giving it a good user clean.
@Jammy - I would just sell it as is however, there is sand inside the front elements and I don't want any problems after the sale. I'd like to unload it in tip top shape as I'm certain I can recoup the cost.
@rhyder The reason I didn't ask Nikon is because there is a community here that has certainly dealt with this and I'd take their experience with it over a Nikon help desk person.
