Still culling through a large number of images I shot in Savannah last month.
Dont worry; I'm getting closer to the end.
Two low-light, handheld images of one of the many beautiful squares that make up the Historic District.
General thoughts, thoughts about crop, lighting? Other impressions and suggestions?
Thanks as always.
EXIF: Both taken with the Canon 5D Mk II, ISO 6400
1. Canon 24-105L at 35 mm, f4, 1/20s
2. Canon 24-105L at 28 mm, f9.5, 1/15s
Diggin' the first one.
Love the lights illuminating the trees. The silohuette in the foreground gives it some dimension, too.
My edits might be:
A smidgeon of counter-clockwise rotation.
The building top peeking through the trees upper left
The sky color (add some blue)
Some distortion correction
Lower the contrast of the lamp posts (moth to a flame, my eye is drawn to them a bit more than I'd like)
I might play with selective WB for the plaque, the warm light makes the statue pop, but muddies the plaque.
A slight trim off the bottom foreground, maybe a little off the left also.
All subjective/minor ... still quite nice ... good eye.
