I'm getting the message "maintenance request 0088" on my 3800 printer. I think this means the internal clock battery needs replacing. Cannot find anything with a google search on how to replace the battery. Anyone have any info on this problem?

Yep - RTC battery is done - Replace and Execute RTC initialization using the Adjustment Program.

I have the maintenance manual in digital form. PM me if you are interested in a copy.

I can't find the battery type for the RTC backup. I'd like to have one before I take the printer apart. Does anyone know what type of battery is needed? Thanks.

Edit: I couldn't wait: It's a CR2032

You'll also want the service manual.

I replaced the battery and tried to print, but the error message didn't clear. I ran the adjustment program and was able to set the RTC clock.

All was good after that.

I should also mention that the adjustment program is Windows only and the printer driver must be installed.
