p.1 #1 · Why does my screen keep flashing

I have a Canon 580EX II and its only several months old

I slip in freshly charged batteries and when I turn it on the lcd screen keeps flashing.

Is there a way to reset everything on the flash?

I turn practically everything off like master, slave, etc, but maybe I am missing something?

please help!

I did a search on the interwebs and found this. It may be a battery problem or the diffuser screen. Is the diffuser pushed in all the way and locked?

Thanks it's resolved now, yes it was the diffuser panel
