p.1 #1 · Starter light kit for Pets

Since I have some time on my hands, and a three car garage that can be emptied at any time, I'd like to set up a small area for shooting dog photos. The space is good sized (easily have 30' by 20', with 10 foot ceiling). Was thinking about hanging a roll of seamless against one wall. I have a Nikon D7000, an SB700, a tripod, 50MM 1.8D, 80-200MM 2.8, and 70-210 3.5. That's it. What would you recommend for a light kit? I may also want to get a few shots of my daughter as well, but right now, it's the dogs (more agreeable, no talking back, etc...). Thanks for any suggestions.

Pets and small children can be scared by the loud bang and bright flash of big studio strobes, so I'd rule out those.

Low-power monolights or some more flash guns would work fine if mounted in softboxes.

You might also consider flourescent light banks like these:

Because they're always on during a shoot, they're quickly accepted as part of the environment by skittish people and animals.

In case you're not familiar with fluorescent photo lights, here's a short article from September's Shutter Bug about one such light:
