p.1 #1 · Pixel mapping on EOS 5D Mark II

I have noticed lately that a couple of pixels on my EOS 5D II sensor are either "hot"or "stuck". Does any of you know how can I make my camera do a pixel mapping? Or is that something that can be done only at a Canon service facility? Thanks for your replies!

Replace the lens with camera cap. Use manual sensor clean mode for an hour. It should work

Generally if you put it into manual clean mode for about 5 minutes and then SHUT THE CAMERA OFF, they should clear. You may have to do it a couple of times but it generally works fine. As long as we are not talking about red pixels which appear in video's this solution is Ok. If your having a video issue the camera needs to go to Canon service for sensor work. People have been using this trick since the camera was announced with reasonable success.

This only works for stills mode.

In video mode, you have to send it to Canon to be remapped, because Canon chose to leave the feature out.

Not sure what this costs in the States, but in Australia it costs around AUD$300.

Your suggestions proved to be correct, except for one "white" pixel which still doesn't respond.
Thank you all!

Dreamliner, try 30 sec blue sky shot (even light but not too hot) and then repeat the trick. Took me couple times to get rid of them.

Adobe software automatically removes them in post.

Really? Aus300$. In Thailand, Canon offers this service free of charge even your warranty is expired.
