p.2 #1 · Do You Put Your Name and Logo in Wedding Album

While I'm inclined to think that a small non-garish logo somewhere in the album is fine; respectfully, I don't really understand this argument :

What is the difference between bookstore book and custom wedding album? Level of exclusivity? Not to compare in the level of greatness, but - when hi-end couturiers make custom clothes for customers - do you think they not putting their label on it? Oh, and check the steering wheel of Pagani Zonda Roadster for which 25 customers parted with $1.5mil (and apart from 64 customization options it even comes with pair of driving shoes). You guessed it - there's logo on a steering wheel! Right in your eyes! I bet first thing those lucky owners do - is to sand

I don't think any client is tearing out pages from their album just because it has the photographers logo on them. That said, I can definitely think of photographers that have a distinct style that "speaks for itself". For those few, a logo would be superfluous.

What part of argument you respectfully don't understand?

One guy said that (because of unclear reason) wedding album is different from a published book from bookstore - it's bad to do what every book maker does - put your name on it.

I replied that no matter how custom things get, premium brands in other industries will put their name on their custom work. Always. You think people might mistaken 1.5mil unique car with chevy cobalt? Yet the name will still be there. Or as somebody else mentioned - every painting will have a painters signature on it too. Even if it's Salvador Dali.

Because in all times, those who does good work - feel proud and feel responsible. So they sign it.

I would think that the differences between a custom designed wedding album and some book in a bookstore are implicit. That is, one (1)... there is only 1 custom designed wedding album in the world. You will never find it in a bookstore, only on some happy couple's coffee table. Thus, I can see situations where some photographers would choose not to use them.

Anyways, my point was that a wedding album is nothing like clothing or cars (which you alluded to). These items have distinguishing logos so that when you're out driving around, others will notice. You can't wear or drive a wedding album so the chances of a logo being viewed in mass is low. Therefore, I can see how some photographers might perceive this as unnecessary marketing when they've already provided other mediums laden with logos and branding for the masses to view (i.e., blogs).

What about Salvador Dali paintings? There is only one of each. All signed!

Yes I do. Anyone here who doesn't and has ever purchased a wedding album with a logo on the last page in the corner probably never paid any attention to it. Why? because it's no big effin deal. The only folks who would probably complain about it is a photographer who says they won't do it because they think it's tacky, bad, crappy, etc. Client's wont care.

Yes, mostly because we're proud of them and we like to think that our clients are proud to have it there.
