A few from today with the Tamron SP 35-80mm f2.8-f3.8 and SP 90mm f2.8 Macro (72b). The first four from the 35-80mm.
Mike (woodrim): I've shooting since the early 60's, back then with Exakta's and early Pentax, moving to Canon F1's then T90's. Also, add to that 2x3 & 4x5 Linhof gear which I still use a few times a year for pure fun. So, I hear you 5 by 5... .
Edd: Nice to know there are other old fogies here. I started in 1971 with a totally manual Kalimar camera with Helios 44-2. Went with Minolta SRT soon after that and stuck with it up until the digital era.
There is an original Tamron Adaptall mount for Canon Eos on Ebay right now...they tend to sell for a premium though. If I remember correctly, there was some sort of lawsuit or something from Canon that stopped production, anyone else have info on that? I don't know why other manufacturers didn't complain if true...?
Sorry, I think I missed answering that question back on page one. Most of my 500mm 55BB shots were on a tripod yes. The Moon one and the bright pink flower one were handheld.
Here's a few with the Tamron_35-70mm_f3.5_17A... Handheld.
You can get new Chinese adaptall 2 EOS mounts off ebay, or you could a couple years ago. No idea how good they are or if there are any weird issues like radioactivity. I often use nikon and om plus suitable adapter. You might call around I was fortunate to find 2 eos when i went digital, one from Brooklyn camera I believe. They're pricey on ebay.
Today was the first sunny day since few weeks. Time for some relaxing in the garden with a cam and some stuff you can see below. All images with Pentax K-5 and Tamron SP 8/500 (55b)
