p.1 #1 · Leaf Aptus Digital Backs- Compatible with Contax?
I'm still making my way in this new medium format world. I've decided that I really like the Leaf Aptus 22, but they seem to be sold more often than not for the Mamiya AFD or the Hasselblad V. On the major sites- the back says it's "universal." If I buy a used back that is, say, Mamiya, can I get an adapter or what do I need for this to work on my Contax?

To use it on a Contax body, you'd have to send it in to Leaf for an adapter swap.
I'm not entirely sure they're still offering that service on the Aptus 22, but I'd guess they are. A Leaf dealer can give you current availability and pricing.
Since you're in LA, I'd probably start by calling Digital Fusion. They should be able to handle Leaf now that Phase One owns 'em.

Hi Liz,
I totally understand why you like the Leaf 22, fat pixels!
All of the available MFD systems have evolved quite a bit over the last few years, you might want to get in touch with Phase One. They just did a hands on demo day in NYC (Milk) and they might be doing the same in LA.
Good luck,
Giorgio

Thanks for prompting me to look. Contacted Mamiya on avaiabilty of Refurbished backs and adapters for my RB. They actually put me in contact with Bear Images in Palo Alto where they were great. Have not stopped by their store yet but just by their customer service I will.
My suggestion is to contact a Mamiya specialist in your area as Leaf is part of Mamiya. Your local dealer may have a better option for you. B&H had quoted me around $1200 for an RB adapter yet Bear quoted $600.
