It all sounds very good except for hi ISO noise. I shoot "available dark" and will be very disappointed if Canon doesn't at least equal the hi ISO performance of my D3s which, for my work, is very clean @ ISO 64,000.

+ 100 for
"available dark"

Did you really mean ISO 64.000? Or was it just a "0" to much?
If you mentioned ISO 64.000 I would like to see one of those images.
Ralph, far from great.....I used to be able to read technical literature in German many years ago. However, a few decades of disuse have taken its toll. Like anything else, use it or lose it.

Addendum: I couldn't help but overhear a conversation between two Canon employees, and there were comments strongly hinting about something during the presentation regarding the November announcement. I really don't think it's my place to give out information that wasn't explicitly given to me, but I think a decent number of people are going to be rather happy.
^^ Added edit: A disclaimer: This may be completely wrong, and I may be misinterpreting things. I don't want to give too much weight to this at the expense of detracting from the main focus of the 1D-X.
Canonrumors.com is saying there will be no DSLR announced in November. Do you still think a decent number of people will be happy?

Canonrumors is wrong about 99% of the time. So if they say no, there will probably be a new DSLR

...Did they have a 1D IV for comparison. I was wondering how much more it weighs.
The figure I've read in several places is "about 200g more." I assume they're saying "about" because there could still be some small changes to the innards over the next few months.
So if the 1D Mark IV is 1180g without battery, I figure 1350-1420g for the 1D-x

Yikes, back to the 1D II weight or even a bit more.

Doubt there will be IS. This is why in my books, the EF-S 17-55 f/2.8 IS still takes the crown for best (quality) walkabout zoom lens.
I agree. For the past 5 years this was my most used lens. This is why I want an equivalent FF lens. In fact, I predicted it long ago but Canon is letting me down on this...
