I really hope some of the guys from the MF thread jump over to this, a few of them have some real cool old Nikkors…200 F2, 58 1.2, 80-200 2.8 AIS, 300 F2, 800 5.6 AIS, etc..
Hye Mishu, so many stories of people having to try multiple copes of sigma lenses put me off sigma completely. While I wouldn't mind a zeiss lens, I can't justify the expense. I donn't mind MF Nikon glass, but only because it makes sense money wise. Plus I believe if I were to sell anything later, the Nikon glass would have a better resale value (than sigma/tokina etc).
This is an old photo that doesn't reflect my current setup. I've sold one of these and added four others as well as teleconverters and extenders. Time for a new photo...
Sorry, I don't take photos of AF lenses... I just keep three of them for emergencies...

It's funny you say that lol...I never realized I dont actually own a Nikon lens anymore lol
But they all work on Nikon cameras! My lens collection includes Tamron, Tokina, Sigma, and a Rokinon. I have a couple of Nikon lenses also. I have chosen lenses carefully, and have saved a good bit of change by doing so.
do what? i made a statement of fact. i don't collect, i use the ones i need and if they serve me no more they are sold. i take no special pride in owning and showing them off. they are tools for use no more no less.
i was done here with the original statement. you should have just let it ride.

Let the arrogant, not-in-the-spirit-of-the-thread statement ride? I actually prefer to see it called out. Curtis has an uses more lenses than anyone I've seen here (although I'm sure there is someone who has/uses more) and has a lot of perspective to offer, especially with MF lenses. But Andreas, who owns virtually every Nikkor lens and all the Nikon digital bodies is more of a collector, and is also a fantastic resource (which isn't to imply he's not a serious and good photographer).
If you were kidding around, post a wink/smile. If you were offering an inappropriately superior comment, it would be best to keep those to yourself.
