p.1 #1 · Yongnuo RF-603 and Sekonic L358 Triggering

Hello all, Got a question about triggering my Sekonic L358 meter and Yongnuo 603 with Alienbees. I recently bought 4 new Yongnuo 603 triggers. They are pretty nice so far. I have tried several combination's to trigger wireless with meter/trigger/alienbees. The only way I have figured to make it work is to trip the camera wirelessly which fires the Yongnuo's and have the meter set in reg flash mode while it counts down. I tried hooking the Yongnuo and Sekonic together via sync cable but no dice. Is the camera triggering way my only option? I do have 1 pocket wizard transmitter and receiver also. I love triggering the PW with the meter. Its nice. Am I missing something obvious? Thanks......Matt

What do you mean by "no dice"? Did the sync cable not trigger the Yongnuo or did the meter not make a reading?

You could try buying a safe-sync or pc/hotshoe adapter, plugging the meter into that, and then putting the yongnuo trigger on the hotshoe.

Yeah, Sorry. It did not trigger the Yongnuo via the sync cable. I will check into the hotshoe adapter. Thanks...

Yes, those hotshoe adapters with 3.5mm miniphone's are great.. triggering via the hotshoe seems to always be more reliable for some unknown (to me) reason. I picked up a couple from the UK on eb@@ for pittance and they are great.
