I'm not sure I understood what was happening. Was that woman feeding the fish in a large tank? What was the issue with the last large fish, was it sick or perhaps rubbing the nose causes unconsciousness?

Actually, turns out that you're seeing something different than you think.

I was excited about the lady "hypnotizing" the shark, but that's not really what's going on. Sharks have to keep moving to keep oxygen flowing over their gills. By tricking the shark into holding still, the lady is allowing it to slowly go into oxygen deprivation. Eventually, when it goes upside down, that rattles the animal enough for it to right itself and swim away.
