Another Garden of the Gods moonlit stars comp ... entered as this week's WA.

Critical/brutal C&C and reworks requested ... considering working the RAW for a competition print.

Even though it was a full moon, it was still very tough to see through the viewfinder for comp with the Oly 18/3.5. Guess I need to bring a bigger flashlight next time.

Beautiful! I love the contrasty 'twilight' look.

Composition is great, if I had to nitpick it'd be the minor noise in the light-blue area above the horizon but it doesn't really bother me. Assuming the sharpness holds up at larger resolutions, it'd be a great candidate for a metallic print.

Thanks.

This was PP'd from small jpegs, so I'm hoping the RAW files will allow for dealing with the noise a bit better.

Nice. It seems a little green or perhaps cyan. Consider color balance adjustments to correct.

Thanks Karen ... could very well be.
I didn't get a 'feel' for how I wanted to dial it in just yet, this being just the 'rough draft'.

Which area(s) in particular are you referring to

It's most obvious in the rocks, but if you apply the color balance changes globally, I suspect you'll like the smallish improvement for the remainder of the image.

Okay ... maybe they are picking up something subtle from the foliage (naturally or pp induced). Will watch more closely for it.

Thanks

I think a little selecive dodge and burn in the foreground could enhance the depth of the whole image, at the moment the bottom 1/3 is too flat, get some good depth in there and I think the whole image will really sing.

silvawispa ... that makes sense given the lighting (5 min full moon).

Thanks.
