I'd say you were having fun! For reproduction, might photographing them digitally reproduce them better than scanning because you can better control the light? Just wondering....
I've tried scanning Tintype before, pretty hard to get all that detail due to the somewhat reflective nature. As AuntiPode said, probably easier to photograph for reproduction.
