Im just getting into photography and would like to find a good (straight to the point) book about the basics of photography (settings, composition, etc) Can anyone recommend one?
I second the recommendation for Photography by London and Upton. Personally, I found it much more informative than Bryan Peterson's books. For composition, I recommend The Photographer's Eye, by Michael Freeman.
Photography by London and Upton, 10th edition preferred
Understanding Exposure by Peterson
Light, Science and Magic by by Fil Hunter, Paul Fuqua and Steven Biver
