I do the some of the mid-west art festival circuit shows throughout the summer. While at a show this weekend a guy who does web design for some area lawyers approached me about using some of my cityscape photos for one of his clients website. Essentially buying the online rights to using as a banner, etc.... I would still maintain the rights to sell the photo at festivals and through my website. I'm looking for some help from someone who has done this to understand the gotchas and also what a "Reasonable" ballpark figure is I should expect/ask for. I understand that its a free market society and ultimately the right number is whatever we mutually agree to, but want to understand where I should start and what is "normal". Thanks in advance for any advice.
