Do you think we can force PCB to create an einstein ringlight? Is there a market for it? I really want a ringlight but the AB is definitely not on the same level as these einsteins... I like the digital controls, and the ABR800 mount has to be improved upon.
I doubt we'll see one in the next 3-5 years, PCB doesn't think and produce in that way (ie: make a product, and then offer a better one for a bit higher). His product offerings are thin pickings, and I think it's accidentally intentional?
Heck, he doesn't even go into revisions, like make 2nd/3rd gen AB lights. He did with Einsteins, but the smallish updates to correct bugs/problems from the first batch.

Agreed. I'd love to see it improved, but honestly, from what I can tell from history in the past 6 years, it'll likely NEVER be as good as an Einstein.

For the cost of the PCB ringflash, you're really better off buying an inexpensive pack (like an older used Dynalite) and get a used Profoto ringflash adapted to it. You will then have one of the best RF ever made that will blow away the PCB ring, and the Profoto will probably last as long as you need it to, and you can sell it again used for probably no loss.
I know what you mean. My only real complaint with it is overall build quality. It just needs way tighter tolerances (and I wouldn't complain about slightly higher quality build materials). The mounting system actually isn't too shabby, it just needs.... Tighter tolerances. I would've gone with the Zeus, but looking on the website it looks like it's built exactly the same, even looks like the same parts are used, just higher power.
That said... The light is just too much fun to keep me from returning it. It makes for the world's greatest photobooth.
