What's cheaper, buying into a new system or new cameras or the recent $350 I spent having my 5Dc shutter replaced and the focus recalibrated? That or a 5DII at $2000, hmmm.....

Ahh whatever.... You quoted that the 30d is OLDER than the 5dc. I corrected you. And it's not even "may be true". That is to say Japan may have attacked Pearl Harbour on Dec. 7, 1941.
Mind if I ask where you live? Yes, it's the photographer and not the camera that create stunning images (to an extent). However, maybe teen moms in South Dakota or Iowa don't know the difference but showing up to a paid gig with a 20d is completely unacceptable in the real world. Have some dignity.
Some very short memories out there, I remember when I was just one of a whole bunch of people shooting weddings with a 10D back when it was the best available....

Wow man. A 20D is a perfectly fine camera that produces some great images. I know a pro that used a pair of them up until last year. What could possibly be wrong with swinging a 20D over your shoulder for a check?

The 1D classic has pixels of 2464 X 1648 at maximum resolution, which means any 20 X 30 print from that camera is at 72dpi.
Most major print houses and album suppliers prefer to print at 240 to 300dpi. Most magazines are printed at 360dpi. Everything I send for print is at minimum 300dpi.
72 dpi is just slightly above newspaper printing resolution requirements.
