p.1 #1 · Viewbook or Livebooks?

Hey all,

I've been too lazy recently about putting a website up and i've decided to start thinking about it again.

I'm looking at using a portfolio based site to begin with and keep reading and hearing very good things about both www.viewbook.com and www.livebooks.com.

Can anyone give me any advice or tell me about their experiences using either of these companies? They seem very similar in what they offer however after looking at examples i'm leaning towards livebooks as the examples i see are more pleasing to me. They are more expensive however than viewbook.

Any advice/tips on either would be appriciated or any advice on alternative companies that offer a similar service.

I mainly want to be able to display numerous galleries, bio, contact info etc and also link out to a blog. Fairly simple stuff so i imagine both would work for me, just some real world experience would be a help!

Thanks in advance,

Chris

This article is slightly old, but covers some of the feature and cost considerations for this decision: http://www.joereifer.com/words/2009/04/15/photography-website-template-features-and-cost/

Livebooks is too expensive for what you get. Consider A Photo Folio as an alternative: http://aphotofolio.com/
A more recent contender with an impressive feature/price ratio is Pixpa: http://www.pixpa.com/

I just set up a Livebooks site. Very easy to administer and SEO friendly.

Take a look at Cargo Collective. I shopped around and finally landed with them for the price and design of their sites!
