i hate you all. never thought to even think about a TS-E lens. The miniature effect, I figured I'd do in post process, but wow. Some of these pics are inspiring. That Getty center one is pretty good. You must of gotten up really early to get it so there are no people around!
I think you're referring to the Disney Hall shot and not Getty Museum. That was taken on Labor Day almost two years ago, so there were only a few people around, but it's not really that hard to shoot around the people. By shooting multiple frames, it's really easy to layer and paint in areas with or without people as needed. It was a late afternoon shot. I was actually shooting there yesterday afternoon, as I needed a vertical shot for an inset shot in a brochure I'm working on, and although there were more people in general, it still wasn't hard to get shots with none.
This was the 24 t/s with camera leveled and an 11mm vertical rise, which only works because there's no detail to render at top edge of the frame. One of the two weaknesses of this lens is fully shifted in the long dimension where the edges fall off considerably (but fine for full shifts in the short dimension) and corner falloff when tilted.
Wonderful pictures everybody. I hope to be able to contribute some soon. Just got the 24/3.5 II a few days ago but haven't had the chance to put it to good use.
