I would love to come to the UAE, but I don't really have the money right now. In a couple of years probably. I am signed up for a Hasselblad event in November, here in Berlin, so I should get my hand on one sometime soon. I want to take much more time to get informed this time around. The next time I buy medium format digital (if ever), I want to keep it for a long time and get much more use out of it.
OK, you are welcome to UAE anytime you want to visit, and hope you can get the camera you look for, there is also H4D-31, i think the cheapest of Hasselblad
Yes, I have seen those. Only around the same price as a new D3x. I am a little biased against these due to the smaller sensor, meaning that all lenses are slightly "wrong". I find the 48x36 crop sensors okay, but the 44x33 a bit too small. I might change my mind

Hmm, what part of the 645 question was still open, refresh our minds
Contax - worth the price...? (lenses are super duper pricey too)
Mamiya - anything to see here? (backwards compatibility issues)
Pentax - $800 for a 645N+back+75mm lens - how can I go wrong?

Sorry carstenw, that's three questions!
Perhaps people are keeping this a thread about images

Wasn't there a bunch of Hasselblad chatter, oh, about a page or two ago...which you actively participated in?
Actually no, other than to briefly answer a question someone asked me. What you're asking would occupy a whole thread (and has all been asked before - did you try searching?)

Of course - however the photographers who I respect the most are here, so their opinions matter most to me.
Quick answer, to avoid taking up too much of the thread, IMO only of course:
- The Contax system is awesome, and worth the money.
- I was never a fan of Mamiya, but lots of people are. Try getdpi too, for this question.
- The Pentax system is well regarded, but I don't know it personally. I don't see why you wouldn't try it, given that you could sell again if you decided against.
In short, there are many good-to-great 645 systems out there. But why not go all out and jump into 6x6 or 6x7? Is the size/weight a problem? The joy of looking in a huge viewfinder is not matched by 645.

Ofcourse looking at my RZII WL viewfinder is something else, i never see that on any camera even that my digital MF, there is a WLV for that digiHassy but i don't think it will match that of RZ, even my Hasselblad 501CM WLV is not as good as RZ.
I have always wanted to try 6x7, but I am quite fond of 6x6, so I never got beyond my 203FE. Is there a 6x7 camera with a waist-level finder and metering?
